David Beckham visited sick children at a special hospital in Australia earlier this week.

The soccer legend spent an hour at the Royal Melbourne Children’s Hospital, while touring with his LA Galaxy team.

“It’s one of the best things I love to do,” he told NineMSN. "I’m an ambassador for UNICEF, and me and my wife have our own charities as well. Going to see the kids, going to see their smiles, giving them a smile, it’s something that I do believe heals and gives them that little bit of happiness. It was a good trip.

“It’s heart-wrenching. I don’t know how the parents do it at times. It’s an amazing hospital, it’s beautiful. They’re doing such great things, it’s really incredible.”

Last week, Beckham took time out of his busy schedule to visit children in need in the Philippines.

“There are so many great people who are doing so much great work here, and it’s a huge responsibility to have children that have come in, that have lost their parents, or been abandoned by their parents and are living on the streets,” he said.
