Make-A-Wish UK has announced actress and presenter Amanda Holden as its latest Patron.

Last year, Amanda met 15-year-old James Elliot who wished to see Shrek The Musical and meet the cast. After meeting James, Amanda said: “Fairy tales are all about wishes coming true and it was a privilege and a delight to meet James and help make his dream come true.”

Speaking about her new role with Make-A-Wish, Amanda said: “I was delighted to have been involved with James’s wish and it’s a real honour to have now been asked to become a Patron. Seeing first-hand just how much a wish means to the child and their family has made me even more passionate to be a part of this wonderful charity.”

Neil Jones, Chief Executive of Make-A-Wish, said: “We are thrilled that Amanda has agreed to become our newest Patron. She brings many qualities which are so important to an organisation like Make-A-Wish – she will be a huge asset.”
