Simon Cowell's Charity Single Smashes Records

February 10, 2010 by Tim Saunders

Simon Cowell's star-studded cover of Everybody Hurts aimed at benefiting Haitian earthquake victims has become the fastest selling charity single of the century.

Sales have topped 200,000 in just two days, and the single is on course to smash the first week sales of any single in ten years.

The version of REM’s Everybody Hurts includes contributions from Leona Lewis, Kylie Minogue, Rod Stewart, Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow, Take That, Jon Bon Jovi, Mariah Carey and many others. Funds will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee and The Sun’s Helping Haiti campaign.
