Save Africa's Children has received a donation of $1 million from Denzel Washington.

The charity works to raise awareness and provide direct support through shelter, education and health care for the 17 million orphans across the continent.

Washington’s donation will help to support 300 new orphan care projects, bringing the number of projects up to over 600.
