In the UK, it is estimated 73% of the poorest families cannot always afford to feed their children during the school holidays. This affects 3 million children and young people across the country and 700,000 in London.

Fit and Fed, run by StreetGames, helps support some of these families across the UK, by providing children with free activities and a nutritious lunch during school holidays.

Prince Harry spoke to young volunteers and coaches taking part in an activator session, organised by Sport at the Heart – a community charity which is part of the Fit and Fed campaign. The activator sessions are run by @streetgames’ Training Academy to support young people to become sports coaches in their local community.

By training more young people to become coaches, the programme hopes to improve access to sports for more children across the community.

Prince Harry also met kitchen volunteers before helping serve up lunch to children taking part in the programme.

His Royal Highness then dropped in on an activity session taking place on the tennis courts outside.
