amfAR kicked off its inaugural Dance2Cure dance challenge at BARDOT at Avalon in West Hollywood on December 1, 2018 — World AIDS Day.

The event featured performances by Jussie Smollett, AlunaGeorge and Lion Babe and was hosted by Montana Tucker. The night concluded with a buzzing freestyle dance battle led by celebrity choreographers Tricia Miranda and Jason Samuels Smith. Notable guests who attended the Dance2Cure Kickoff included Victoria Justice, Chloe Lukasiak, Serayah and Jay Ellis.

The kickoff event launched a nationwide contest led by legendary choreographer and event chair, Frank Gatson, with the goal to engage thousands of aspiring dancers (18+) from across the country to raise funds for amfAR’s HIV cure research. Dancers will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with the country’s hottest choreographers including Tricia Miranda, Chris Grant, JaQuel Knight and Jason Samuels Smith. Ultimately, dance crews will battle it out onstage in front of a panel of celebrity judges and over 1,000 guests. To register your dance crew, please visit www.amfardance2cure.org.

Dance2Cure is led by generationCURE, a group of energetic young supporters dedicated to ending the HIV/AIDS pandemic in their lifetime by raising funds for amfAR’s HIV cure research.
