John Mayer's latest challenge with the showbiz website TMZ proved fruitful for two animal charities.

The musician promised to pay £25,000 to a charity of TMZ boss Harvey Levin’s choice if he could uncover a mug shot of Mayer from his 2001 arrest in Atlanta for speeding and driving without a license.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Levin accepted and was triumphant! The money will be split between two animal charities: Pet Orphans Fund and Ace of Hearts, charities which focus on rescuing, training and re-homing dogs.

Mayor congratulated the website via Twitter: “Well done, TMZ. But the real winners today are the puppies.”
