Adrian Grenier will host the 5th annual charity ball to benefit charity:water on December 13.

The star has hosted the event for the last few years, and will resume his MC duties at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York next month.

Charity:Water was established by Scott Harrison, a Manhattan party promoter, in 2006. While on a freelance photography trip in Africa, Harrison was shocked to see victims of contaminated water suffering long and painful deaths.

“I had been selling $350 bottles of Grey Goose vodka at clubs, and here were 5,000 people, some who had come from neighboring countries to see a doctor,” Harrison told Bloomberg. “I was devastated.”

Committee Chairs for this year’s event include Jennifer Connelly, Kristen Bell, Kyra Sedgwick and Matthew Modine. Guests will be asked to walk a fraction of the distance an average person in Africa might walk each day to get fresh water, to experience the burden that millions of people face. Each time a person walks, a group of sponsors will donate towards a well.
