The 11th Annual UCP of NYC Golf Tournament and Celebrity Dinner was held on Monday, July 23, 2012, at Brae Burn Country Club and Century Country Club in Westchester County, New York.

The annual tournament attracted over 200 golfers from the tri-state area for a fun day of golf and entertainment. All proceeds from the event support the vital programs provided by UCP of NYC to thousands of New Yorkers with disabilities and their families.

Jill Flint, star of the hit series Royal Pains and a committed supporter of UCP of NYC, served as Host for the event. Eight time Emmy-Award winner, New York Times Bestselling author & Sports Commentator Len Berman, who is currently seen regularly as a commentator on NBC’s TODAY and for Fox 5 television, was Emcee for the Celebrity Dinner. Edward R. Matthews, CEO of United Cerebral Palsy of New York City (UCP of NYC), provided opening remarks. Sports Commentator and longtime UCP of NYC supporter Spencer Ross was the key presenter for the evening.

This year’s Celebrity Dinner marked the inaugural presentation of the UCP of NYC Champion Award, which recognizes individuals with disabilities who demonstrate the power to inspire and lead as role models for people with and without disabilities. UCP of NYC honored as the award’s first-ever recipients Frank Kineavy and Nicholas Gaynor, student managers for Villanova’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball Program, with this important new award.

Co-Chairs (both in attendance) for the 11th Annual UCP of NYC Celebrity Golf Tournament & Celebrity Dinner were Christopher Laul, Senior Principal at HOK, and John Lombardo, Vice President, BNY Mellon.

Schmahl, Founder of Schmackary’s Cookies.
