The Carousel of Hope presented by Mercedes Benz, the world’s premiere charity event benefiting childhood diabetes hosted biennially by Barbara Davis, has announced an extraordinary live auction package from the St. Regis Bora Bora that will be featured at the 26th gala, taking place on Sat., Oct. 20 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Presented by celebrity emcee Jay Leno and the Resort’s General Manager Michael Schoonewagen, The Carousel of Hope will offer a one-of-a-kind experience – a St. Regis Bora Bora celebrity wedding valued at $250,000 USD. The bride and groom will be pampered for 10 nights, in the Resort’s elegant Royal Estate Villa, which spans over 13,000 square feet and is comprised of three separate pavilions that revolve around a private pool. The bride will slip into a St. Regis Bora Bora wedding dress, exclusively designed for the Resort by Scandinavian designer Cecilie Melli. Additionally, the couple’s once-in-a-lifetime ceremony and reception experience will be captured by a photographer and the couple will be treated to a rehearsal dinner by the Resort’s signature restaurant, Lagoon Restaurant by Jean-Georges as well as all meals, and round trip tickets from Los Angeles to Tahiti sponsored by Air Tahiti Nui. Also included are airport transfers, water activities and five villas for five couples for five nights to share the memories with.

This unique live auction item also kicks off the Resort’s exclusive partnership with Cecilie Melli, who will showcase a collection of wedding dresses designed for brides who will wed at the St. Regis Bora Bora. Instead of having to travel far distances with “the dress,” Melli’s whimsical creations will be available on-site, for rent or purchase at the all-new St. Regis Bora Bora Bridal Boutique. To assist couples, the Resort’s new Romance Butler Concierge team is available 24/7 to create memorable and romantic experiences.

Jay Leno will encore as Master of Ceremonies at The Carousel of Hope which will honor Oscar-winning actor, producer, director and philanthropist George Clooney with the “The Brass Ring Award” for his outstanding artistic achievements and unprecedented humanitarian undertakings. Featured performers include R&B and Pop icon Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and other world-renowned artists to be announced. David Foster and George Schlatter will, respectively, reprise their roles as music director and producer. Past awardees Quincy Jones and Clive Davis are Music Chairmen.

The legendary, star-studded gala benefits the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes, the country’s leading care and research center for type 1 diabetes.

For the fifth consecutive time, Mercedes-Benz will be the presenting sponsor and a highlight of the evening will be the auctioning of a 2013 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG. Other major sponsors include Guess? Inc., American Airlines, Estee Lauder, Moët Hennessy USA and The Beverly Hilton.

Since its founding 35 years ago by Marvin and Barbara Davis, The Carousel of Hope has raised over $75 million on behalf of the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes in Denver, Colo. Over 6,000 children and adults with type 1 diabetes from around the globe visit regularly for specialized care. The Center also cares for children with type 2 diabetes. Both forms of the disease are increasing at an epidemic rate. The Center’s research programs are world-acclaimed. For more information please visit www.childrensdiabetesfoundation.org.
