While Earl is generally a very private individual – he has participated and supported many charities – including Crossroads Centre having donated his time, performances and music to two of the three Crossroad Music festivals. He also has been supporting Canine Companions for Independence for over 10 years – ( they have even named 2 dogs" Klugh and Klugh II " in his honor) He regularly supports various music education efforts along with participating in a benefit for Mitch Alboms “Say Detroit” initiative. He has donated his performance fee on several occasions to help causes.
