A discussion panel moderated by NBC News’ Tamron Hall will follow the screening featuring Kristen Collins, Senior Director of ASPCA Anti-Cruelty Behavior Rehabilitation; Erin Wanner, Vice President of Animal Planet Production; ASPCA President and CEO Matt Bershadker; and filmmaker Kenn Bell.

Also expected to attend the screening are Lo Bosworth, Jackie Cruz, Vicky Jeudy, Selenis Leyva, Lena Hall, Orfeh & Andy Karl, Geneva Carr, Meredith O'Connor, Eric West, Daniel Churchill (The Chew), Tanisha Washington, Guinevere Van Seenus (model), Catherine McNeil (model), Bridget Malcolm (model), Eniko Mihalik (model), Jessielyn Palumbo, Miss New Jersey USA, social media star Marnie the Dog, and many more.

Rescued from hoarding cases, puppy mills and other atrocities, animals at the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center have lived most of their lives in constant fear and neglect, resulting in extreme distrust of humans and at times complete catatonia. These conditions make them unsuitable for adoption, which puts their lives at grave risk. ASPCA behavior experts at the New Jersey-based center accepts these dogs from across the country to give them second chances at a lives they deserve. Each dog profiled in the documentary overcomes unique challenges to become comfortable being handled by people, walking with a leash, engaging in play and exhibiting social behavior. In the film, experts from the animal welfare community share insight on the perilous obstacles animal victims of cruelty face, as well as the innovative tactics and tools that give them a second chance.

The screening will take place at House of Vans, 25 Franklin Street, Brooklyn NY 11222, on April 10 at 6:40pm.

“Second Chance Dogs” will debut on Animal Planet on Saturday, April 16, at 9 AM ET/PT.
