Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), the leading media company serving Hispanic America, and the Fusion Media Group (FMG), a division of UCI serving the rising American mainstream, has announced the addition of Lin-Manuel Miranda to the list of notable honorary co-chairs for ‘RiseUp AS ONE’ (#RiseUpAsOne) – a two-day celebration of music, diversity and unity which will take place on October 14 and 15.

The event will feature a heavyweight lineup of artists, musicians, influencers and thought leaders and will consist of performances, talks and cultural expositions. In conjunction with his support of RiseUp AS ONE, Miranda speaks about the power of music to act as a unifying force in a new video unveiled on riseupasone.com.

Miranda Joins an impressive list of co-chairs from diverse backgrounds, including: Jose Andres, Nicolas Berggruen, T Bone Burnett, Ximena Caminos, Kenneth Cole, Jason Collins, Junot Díaz, Ava DuVernay, Emilio & Gloria Estefan, America Ferrera, Henry Louis “Skip” Gates, Don Graham, Salma Hayek, Samuel L. Jackson, Dr. Henry Jenkins, Quincy Jones, Mía Maestro, Jonathan Olinger, Eduardo Padrón, Residente, Shonda Rhimes, Robert Rodriguez, Dr. Robert K. Friday, October 14 will be a day of thought leadership on issues related to unity and inclusion followed by a free ticketed concert headlined by internationally acclaimed artists and musicians on Saturday, October 15. The concert will be broadcast live October 15 coast-to-coast in Spanish on Univision Network and in English on FUSION from 7:00-10:00pm, ET (4:00-7:00pm, PT). UCI will cover and promote the event across its suite of platforms including its two broadcast networks, 11 cable channels, 126 local TV and radio stations and portfolio of digital assets.
