Shaquille O'Neal, Martin Sheen, will.i.am, Joe Jonas, Nina Dobrev, Mia Farrow and many others are part of Free The Children's social media efforts in support of its Vow of Silence campaign – an annual fundraising and awareness initiative encouraging youth to stand together in solidarity for 24 hours with millions of their peers who have been silenced by poverty, disease and exploitation.

The new video montage showcases each of the celebrities with their hand over their mouth as an act of solidarity and support for the millions of youth silenced for their basic rights.

In 2010, over 100,000 youths from 820 schools took Free The Children’s Vow of Silence and remained silent for a combined total of 932,164 hours, equivalent to 82 years. This year’s Vow of Silence campaign begins on Wednesday, November 30 at 3:00 p.m. and runs for a 24 hour period ending Thursday, December 1, at 3:00 p.m. Students, corporations and the general public across North America and the UK will gather pledges to stay silent for 24 hours (no speaking, no texting and/or no emails), standing up for youth around the world who don’t have a voice.

Donations support children’s rights by funding Free The Children’s holistic and sustainable Adopt a Village model, providing education, alternative income projects, health care and clean water and sanitation systems in rural communities including Kenya, India and China.
