Life Ball is coming to New York with a special charity auction at Sotheby’s on December 8.

The auction will see Build-A-Bear teddy bears specially created by stars to benefit Operation Bobbi Bear. Among the stars who have created bears for the event are Bill Clinton, Elton John, Sean Penn, Nicole Kidman, Sharon Stone, Heidi Klum, Janet Jackson, Adrien Brody, Vivienne Westwood, Eva Longoria, Jean Paul Gaultier, Roberto Cavalli and many more.

It is estimated that in the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal (South Africa), one in every four girls will be raped by her sixteenth birthday. Operation Bobbi Bear works on behalf of sexually abused and victimized children by helping to minimize their risk of an HIV infection, ensuring their health and well-being and bringing their attackers to justice. Their court-approved approach, which uses a teddy bear for children to describe their abuse, has helped save thousands of children from being victimized again through retelling their stories.
