Ian Somerhalder has won the Mozilla Firefox Challenge, scoring $50,000 for the IS Foundation.

Ian beat out a host of celebrities and charities competing for the prize, including second place winner Jimmy Kimmel, who was raising money for Comfort the Children. Also competing were Sophia Bush, Jonah Hill, Edward Norton, Seth Rogen, Ty Burrell and Brittany Snow.

Ian raised $122,398 through his Crowdrise fundraising page during the challenge, just beating Jimmy Kimmel, whose fans raised $121,301.

The Ian Somerhalder Foundation aims to educate, collaborate with and support people and organisations to turn conversation into real projects and progress to positively impact the planet and species habitat.
