Legendary music executive Clive Davis, singer/songwriter Burt Bacharach, contemporary music artist Charli XCX and film composer Christophe Beck (“Frozen”), along with top music and entertainment industry VIPs, will come together at the 11th annual Songs of Hope to celebrate the song and songwriter, and to raise funds for lifesaving cancer research at City of Hope.

To be held June 11 at the exclusive House of Fair, the Los Angeles home of music producer Ron Fair, this year’s Songs of Hope VIP charity event will feature award presentations to the following recipients:
The “Clive Davis Legend in Songwriting” Award – Presented by Clive Davis to Burt Bacharach

The “Martin Bandier Vanguard Award” – Presented to Charli XCX

Electronic Arts Composer Award – Presented to Christophe Beck

Prior Songs of Hope honorees and participants have included Ne-Yo, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Colbie Caillat, Desmond Child, Dr. Luke, Stevie Wonder, will.i.am, Mark Mothersbaugh, The Doobie Brothers, Swizz Beatz, Jermaine Dupri, Dave Stewart, Glen Ballard, Lionel Richie and Gavin DeGraw, among others. In addition, the star-studded celebration will feature emcee Jimmy Jam, as well as a silent auction featuring rare and one-of-a-kind music/film experiences and autographed items.

The event is again co-chaired by David Renzer, chairman of Spirit Music Group; Doug Davis founder/principal of The Davis Firm; Evan Lamberg, president – North America, Universal Music Publishing Group; and Steve Schnur, president, Music of Electronic Arts. Songs of Hope XI music and entertainment presenting and platinum sponsors include Clive Davis, Electronic Arts, Martin Bandier, Sony/ATV, Universal Music Publishing Group, Billboard, Variety and Los Angeles magazine.

“I want to thank my co-chairs, Evan Lamberg, Doug Davis and Steve Schnur, our hosts Ron Fair and Stefanie Ridel Fair, and all the supporters and sponsors for their invaluable, ongoing support of City of Hope and its work in discovering new treatments for cancer, which has touched so many of us,” said Renzer. “Since founding the Songs of Hope event, we have raised more than $3 million to support City of Hope and we thank the entertainment community for its support.”

Said Davis: “As a cancer survivor, I believe it is imperative to raise funds to continue City of Hope’s compassionate patient care and groundbreaking research. Thus, I am excited to again co-chair Songs of Hope and feel it is important to celebrate the song and the songwriter, which are often overshadowed by the recording and the artist. Songs Of Hope is extra special for me because I can work hand-in-hand with my father Clive Davis, who will present the Clive Davis Legend In Songwriting Award to a true legend, Burt Bacharach, with whom he shared many landmark musical milestones.”

Said Lamberg: “City of Hope is where hope lives in every patient and family member that enters their door. It’s an honor to work alongside my co-chairs to continue to raise awareness and monies for a magical place that makes such a big positive difference in people’s lives.”

Said Schnur: “A decade ago, the music industry was a vastly different environment. But what hasn’t changed – and has in fact grown – is the commitment of Songs of Hope. I am privileged to be a part of this unique event that honors such singular talent while benefitting so many. We are foremost a community, and we invite that community to join us and make a collective difference. It will be a night to remember, guaranteed.”
