Some of film and television’s biggest stars have joined the makers of Oscar-winning conservation documentary The Cove to create a PSA encouraging fans to help stop the senseless slaughter of dolphins in Japan.

The My Friend Is… PSA features stars such as Hayden Panettiere, Woody Harrelson, Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts as they describe the slaughter of over 25,000 dolphins in Taiji every year.

The video has been produced by TakePart.com and explains how most of Japan is not even aware that the slaughter takes place.

Other stars to appear in the video include Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Russell Simmons, Jason Mraz, John Leguizamo, Carrie Ann Inaba, Mariska Hargitay, James Gandolfini and many more.
