John Abraham started as a model in India and abroad. He was on of India’s top models till he made his acting film debut in 2003, and won an award for his first film ‘Jism’. He had a major role in the critically acclaimed film ‘Water’. The film was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 79th Academy Awards. Today he is a leading actor of Indian films and has had numerous major hits.

John has his own fashion line: his brand (JA) clothes, which primarily features his favorite article of clothing, jeans.

Abraham associates himself deeply in social causes. He loves animals and works for PETA.

John also has his own brigade called John’s Brigade for Habitat For Humanity, a Jimmy Carter Foundation project.

He was also associated with the famous Lilavati hospital of Mumbai where he donated a cheque of 10 lakhs towards the hospital funds.

In January 2009, John led a group of Indian celebrities in the Mumbai Marathon, and ran to raise funds for charities.
