Valerie Harper is best known for her roles as Rhoda Morgenstern in the 1970s television series, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and its spin-off, Rhoda, and as Valerie Hogan in Valerie.
She is an advocate for equal rights, and in 1983 helped establish an organization called L.I.F.E. to fight hunger in children.
