For over 41 years stars from TV, Film, Music and Sports have joined together to show support for the men and women who serve their community.

On May 31, 2014 they will come together again to help raise funds for the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation at a new location, Brookside Golf Club in Pasadena.

The 42nd Annual event will be hosted by actor Dennis Quaid, along with over 50 celebrities participating including Teri Hatcher, Eric Christian Olsen, Danny Trejo, Nathan Kress, Joanna Krupa, Gilles Marini, Jonathan Banks, C Thomas Howell, Danny Masterson, Neal McDonough, Ian Gomez, Tito Ortiz, Jerry West, Jason Collins, Nyambi Nyambi, Rob Riggle, Vanessa Marcil, Quinton Aaron, AJ Buckley, Raymond Cruz, Michael Paul Chan, CS Lee, Bruce McGill, Chris Knight, Carl Weathers and more.

LAPMF is utilizing both courses for a day of fun. The Celebrity Tournament will run on one course where spectators are welcome to watch their favorite celebrity golf. The other course will be covered with LAPD equipment displays, over 50 vendors, great food and drink for a day of family fun. There will also be photo and autograph opportunities with celebrities arriving throughout the day.

This has been a tough time for the LAPD. In recent months, the department has lost five Officers in unrelated incidents. On May 31, with heavy hearts, the Memorial Foundation will pay tribute to Officer Nicholas Lee, Officer Chris Cortijo, Detective Ernest Allen, Officer Robert Sanchez & Officer George Nagata as well as all Officers killed in the line of duty acknowledging their service to the community. These Officers, and the Officers who have lost their lives before them, will not be forgotten. The Los Angeles Police Protective Memorial Wall will be transported to the event where all can pay respects.

Proceeds from this event benefit officers who have been killed or critically injured in the line of duty. The Memorial Foundation is the cornerstone of the LAPD employee wellness program & has granted over $15,000,000 without any direct taxpayer money.

The support of the community, sponsors and entertainment industry has been heartwarming. Recently music superstar Rihanna made a contribution to the Memorial Foundation as well as the Los Angeles Police Foundation after meeting LA Police Commission President Steve Soboroff at a Clippers game. Stevie Wonder performed at the funeral service of one officer and TV Stars Ray Romano and Betty White also made charitable contributions.

The Elton John Charitable Fund has been a long-time supporter and continues to be a great help to the Memorial Foundation as well as Live Nation the world’s largest concert promotion company, Kaiser Permanente, In–N-Out Burger, Ahmanson Fund & Outback Steak House who continue to contribute throughout the years. After hearing about the recent tragedies, PokerStars also joined in to help again. They became a supporter of the Memorial Foundation early in 2013 when they sponsored the Foundation’s Celebrity Poker Tournament hosted by the late James Gandolfini.

Celebrity supporters include Elton John, Jack Nicholson, Paula Abdul, Wayne Gretzky, Joe Pesci, Sugar Ray Leonard, George Lopez, Donald Trump, Kelsey Grammer, Eddie Van Halen, Samuel L. Jackson, Craig T. Nelson, James Woods, Richard Dreyfuss, Dennis Franz, Chris O'Donnell, Mark Wahlberg and Luke Wilson.

Patrons may purchase tickets to attend the Family Fun Day & watch the golf tournament at All LAPD Stations or for more information call 213-847-4239 www.LAPMF.org.

The Memorial Foundation welcomes the community support during a tragic time and hope that more people will decide to get involved.
