Macklemore Charity Work, Events and Causes

Hip Hop artist Macklemore and producer Ryan Lewis collaborate regularly, both musically and philanthropically. In April 2014, Macklemore backed Lewis and the Lewis family’s 30/30 Project, which strives to bring access to healthcare impoverished communities around the world, believing that Healthcare is a Human Right.

Macklemore has also dedicated time to the We Day movement, and puts his own personal experiences to use, helping others by sharing his own history and path to regaining his strength through the Half of Us initiative.

In 2013, Macklemore recorded a song for the ONE Campaign, aiming to urge and inspire a new generation to take action in the fight against the injustices of extreme poverty and hunger.

A supporter of LGBT rights, Macklemore’s song “Same Love” was written to voice his frustration with homophobia in the hip-hop community.
